BRITISH ISLES LASHED. [ British Official Wireless. ] Received May 8, 9.5 p.m. RUGBY, May 7. (During a storm at the week-end a heavy gust of wind of 87 miles an hour was registered at Valencia, Ireland, and winds of gale force were general throughout the British Isles. During the height of the storm yesterday it was found necessary to pour oil on the broken waters of Bridlington harbour to enable the motor fishing boats caught by the heavy seas to make the harbour safely. Several small vessels were in difficulties around the British coasts.
