FIRE NEAR TAUPIRI
TELEGRAPH POLES BURNT. ■COMMUNCATION CUT OFF. I Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, April 7. Auckland telegraphic and telephonic communication was interrupted this afternoon by a lire which destroyed a number of telegraph poles about two and a half miles south of Taupiri, and brought the lines down. All the districts to the south were cut off for two hours, after which it was reported that temporary communication had been restored.
