LEPERS ON “STRIKE”
THREAT OF INFECTION. PROTEST AGAINST CUTS. Received April 8. 6.5 p.m. ! CALCUTTA, April 7. I A danger of wholesale leprous infection has developed at Allahabad, where 500 lepers walked out of an asylum three miles from the city as a protest against the reduction of their allowance and diet. They threatened to enter the crowded city if their demands are not met. It is expected that the authorities will have to agree.
