PIANOFORTE RECITAL
j MADAME BETTS-VINCENT For her recital to be given to-night in the Girls’ College Hall, Madame Betts-Vincent has selected, as far as possible, a programme that will appeal to all tastes. There arc the very beautiful Serious Variations of Mendelssohn, a Beethoven Rondo, a Chopin Group and a particularly attractive caprice on airs from Gluck’s opera “Alcestc,” arranged by Saint-Saens ’ for those who prefer tho older and romantic type of music. For those who like to hear works by present-day composers there is an interesting group of works by Albeniz, I’almgren, Scriabino, Felix '’winstead, Sydney Rosenbloom, i while two delightful Viennese dances, j .’.i :. . .-,ed by Friedman, will make an instant appeal to everybody. Mr. Allan Brown, whose artistic singing is always enjoyed by Wanganui audiences, will contribute songs, accompanied by Miss Molly Harden, L.A.B. Madame Betts-Vincent’s ability as a pianist is too well known to need stressing and' wo feel sure that all those who attend to-night’s concert will be warmly appreciative of the excellent programme 1 provided.
