MISSING POLICE
THROWN IN THE SEINE PARIS, Feb. 7. An official report discloses that three mounted police on duty yesterday disappeared. It is believed that they were thrown into the Seine and drowned during the night. Stocks and shares rose following the news of M. Daladier’s resignation, and they rose again when it was learned that M. Doumergutt had accepted the Premiership, because he is geserally regarded as tho only man capable of preventing a revolution.
Meanwhile the gravity of the situation has been increased by the Federation of Labour’s decision to declare a twenty-four hour strike on February 12 against the menace of Fascism and in the defence of public liberty.
