FATAL BURNS
YOUNG WOMAN’S DEATH. NIGHT ATTIRE CATCHES FIRE. Admitted to the AVanganui Public Hospital about 4.30 a.m. on AVednesday, suffering from severe burns about the head and body, Aliss Muriel Howard Larking, only daughter of Air. ;7id Airs. J. V. G. Larkin, of 19 Duncan Street, AVanganui East, was unable to recover, nad expired at 3.30 p.m. yesterday. It is surmised that Aliss Larking got up to shut a window and her night attire came in contact with the flame of the candle. The other occupants of the house were not aware of the plight of Aliss Larking until the pain of her burns caused the unfortunate victim to call for assistance. She was attended by Dr. Howard Christie and removed to the hospital by ambulance. An inquest will be held this morning. Two brothers of Aliss Larking reside in Wanganui.
