THE TRAMWAYS Sir, —In view of the hold-up of our tramway system this morning, may 1 suggest that the authorities concerned should, if a similar stoppage occurs again, place one or two of their buses in commission and thus save a great deal of inconvenience to their patrons and incidentally a fair amount of revenue. Along with some dozen prospective passengers, 1 waited over naif an hour at the Hospital shelter-shed, but no sign of a conveyance put in an appearance until we were finally given a lift into the city by passing motorists. A stoppage of five or ten minutes docs not matter, but when It runs to nearly a quarter of an hour, surely a temporary bus service would be worth while, particularly as It was raining so hard at the time. “RATEPAYER.” Wanganui, January 29, 1934.
