BYRD EXPEDITION
UNLOADING OF SUPPLIES. Received Jan. 26, 9.28 p.m. NEW Y r ORK, Jan. 26. The unloading of supplies continued on Thursday after the Jacob Ruppert had returned to her former berth alongside the high ice flooring of the Bay of Whales-. A few miles south from the unloading point, dogs and tractors have pounded into the ice a smooth road four and a half miles long to Little America. To and from this highway passes a ceaseless transport of dog sledges and tractors at half-hourly intervals, while the monoplane takes off for Little America with its cabins piled with food boxes.
