EXCURSION TO WANGANUI Tho Railway Department advertises particulars of the running of an excursion train to Wanganui on Boxing Day (December 26). Tho department have made special arrangements for the conveyance of excursionists to and from the South Beach at Castlecliff by river steamers. Tho South Beach is popular with surf bathers and picnic parties and as tho fares are low the outing should be an excellent one. XMAS SALE. TO-DAY, AT JOHN COULL’S ROOMS. John CouU will sell at his sale rooms (Maria Plave), to-day (Friday), beginning at 1 p.m., turkeys, geese, ducks, fowls, dressed poultry, all vegetables, smoked fish, peaches, apples, tomatoes, strawberries, cut flowers, and also fountain pens, and toys of every description. WANGANUI AUCTION MART From 12 noon to-day, F. C, Atkinson and Co., will sell at their mart a special entry of Xmas poultry, including geese, turkeys, ducks, table fowls, cockerels, etc., a grand assortment of fruit, full platfornf of vegetables, and numerous sundries. If desired, poultry may be *cleaned and dressed on tho premises at a small cost.
