BULLS

CLYDESDALE SCHOOL. The breaking-up ceremonies at the above school were well attended on Wednesday afternoon, parents and visitors being interested in a fine display of handwork, raffia and poker work (utilising old cigar and lolly boxes), wooden toys, stuffed toys and drawing, the pupils gave recitations, dialogues, songs a Highland fling and tap dances, and exhebitions of rhythmic drill by seniors and juniors, all ot which was greatly appreciated. Mr. McKenzie, before presenting the prizes eulogised the teaching staff, and said that the school had progressed splendidly under Miss Flaveil. Three pupils had been presented at recent examinations. Lorna Ransom and Frank Luxford gaining proficiency, and Kathleen Maxwell competency certificates. The pupils had all worked well during the year, and each child received a book. Special prizes were awarded as follows:—Dux Bennett’s special trophy).—Frank Luxford; attendance (full). —Standard VI, Kathleen Maxwell; Standard V, Percy Teague and Margorie Quinlan; Standard IV, Avis Teague; Standard HI, John Thompson and Ken Powell; Standard I, Daisy Armitage; Primer IV, Ivan McKenzie. Sewing.—Standards V and VI, Lorna Ransom; Standards 111 and IV, Patsy Quinlan; Standards I and 11, Joyce Thomson; Primers, Jean Harris. CRICKET. Bulls and Marist Cricket Clubs will play a friendly game on Bulls Domain during the coming week-end. The Bulls team is as follows:—Meads, O’Connell, Miller, Hart, Murphy, Lunn, de Burgh, A. and R. Whitcoinbe, Hunt, Kitching and Reeve.
