AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION

FREE BREAK-DOWN SERVICE. The AVanganui Automobile Association together with Taranaki. South Taranaki, Manawatu, Hawke’s Bay and AVairarapa, are offering to members this year the greatest free service that has so far been inanugurated. This is known as the auxiliary road service and briefly, is a breakdown service ab solutelv free, at any time of the day ami night to any' member who is stranded within 20 miles of any appointed auxiliary road service station. Auxiliary service stations have been appointed right throughout the Taranaki, Wanganui, Manawatu. AA’airarapa and Hawke’s Bay districts. The whole of these districts have been canvassed and the service fully organ ised, over 120 auxiliary service stations having been appointed to assist members during the Christmas touring. A special booklet has been published which will be in the hands of all members by Friday, December 22, which fully explains thc service : nd also gives a comprehensive list of the 120 1

auxiliary service stations, ’phone numbers and car agencies held by the different stations, etc. The service is strictly limited to financial members, s-o all those who have not already done so, should become financial immediately, while thc motorist who is not a membe.r may easily bo faced with a bill for £2 or £3 which would not cost a financial member of the association one penny. Full particulars can be oh tained from the head office, 44 Maria Place. Wanganui, or agents. The association apologises to members for nor having posted, to those entitled to receive it, the latest edition of the New Zealand Road Guide. Unfortunately, the publication was unavoidably held up by a fire, and the publishers, Messrs. Andrew, Baty and Co., Christchurch, advised that it was impossible for them to get the guide books shipped before yesterday. This will mean that they cannot reach the head office before Saturday morning, when they will be available for members. Thc association, however, ar-

ranged with Messrs. Andrew, Baty and Co. to post direct from Christchurch to all those members who are entitled to the free guide. This will mean that nil these members should receive their guide books on Frfrlay night or Saturday morning at the latest. Copies of the 1933 editfijn are available to those who cannot, wait until thc new edition is received.
