COMMUNITY SING. Thc community sing in aid of the school funds attracted a good number to thc Public Hall on Monday nighL Mr. J. Currie was in .control and kept things moving in his well known style. Thc items'presented by the children were all well received all of thc numbers were greeted with rounds of applause. Thc items were as follows: — Song, juniors; recitation, Margaret Coulter; vocal duet, Terence and Barry Anderson; recitation, John Quarrie; song and dance, senior girls; recitation, Dulcie Burrows; vocal duet, Nelson and Molly Butler; song, senior boys. Other items given were a song and chorus by thc “Joy Germs” and an amusing farce entitled “That Brute Simmons,” presented by a party from Bulls. Just before the interval the chairman (Mr. E. J. Bowatcr) presented the prizes, each child attending the school receiving a book. Mr. Bowatcr returned thanks to all who had assisted in making the evening’s entertainment the success it had been and concluded by callig for a round of applause for the teachers (Mr. G. L. Francis and Miss Macfarlane). The accompanists during the evening were Mrs. E. N. Butler, Mrs. E. Davey, Mr. G. Drew and Master Denis Anderson.
