TRAPPED IN ICE

RUSSIANS’ NARROW ESCAPE. Received Dec. 3, 7.20 p.m. MOSCOW, Dec. 2. It is reported that a change of wind saved the lives of 92 Russians, including several women, who were among the crew and passengers of the Soviet icebreaker Cheluskin, which for over a month had been trapped in tho icepacks in the north-west of Behring Strait. Those, rescued include a party of scientists who spent the winter on Wrangcl Island. The ship took off the party by means of a small aeroplane, and then became trapped in the ice as she was homeward hound.
