BAPTISMAL SERVICE

CHURCH OF CHRIST MISSION Because of the increasing interest that is being taken in the Church of Christ mission, Ingestre Street, where Mr Harry L. Bell is speaking to capacity' crowds, it was definitely announced at last night's service that the ‘ mission would be transferred to a big marquee. The marquee will be located ’ in Victoria Avenue, between Ingestre ! and Plymouth Streets. A working lee of men was busily engaged in levelling off the section yesterday, and will be at work again to-day. Ladies of the congregation served afternoon tea to the men. The big tent will be erected at once and it is anticipated that the first service will be held in it next Sunday night when Air Bell will speak on "A Good’Man’s Hell." Following the baptismal service last evening, the missioner took for his text the words of the prophet Amos, " Prepare to meet thy God." He said in part, "We are living in a world of preparedness. All around us wo see this in evidence. 1 see a man writing a cheque and 1 ask him what he is doing. He says, 4 1 believe in preparation. I am writing this cheque for my insurance policy. To-day I am strong and well, but some dav I will have to slow down and this policy will come in handy then. 1 am getting ready for my old age.’ "So should a man display as much wisdom in things eternal. 4 As for man his days are as grass, ns a flower of ,<he field so he flour i she th. The wind

passeth over ?t and it. is gone.’ The! most uncertain thing i.s life and the i nost certain thing is death, therefore ive should prepare to meet our Afakcr. "Many a man follows the vision of ;o-morrow. To-morrow he promised his conscience; to-morrow I mean to pray; o-inorrow I will think as 1 ought to hink. You say to-morrow, but the invitation of love is to-night. There will tome a day when there will bo no tounrrow. ’ ’ To-night. Mr Bell will speak on "A Jodel Case of Conversion."
