RELIEF ENTERTAINMENT. What is claimed to be one of the fin est variety and vaudeville entertainments ever offered to a AVanganui audience will be presented at the Opera House to-morrow night by the promoters, Messrs. Arthur Vernon and George Smithies. The show is being staged to raise funds for the relief of distressed Afaoris and for the men’s "shelter" in Wicksteed Place. The Kaiwhaiki 2YA Maori Entertainers are bringing down from their pa a band of versatile musicians and singers, together with their famous haka team, who will be making their first AVanganui appearance. Mr. Geo. Allen and partners will again appear in a clever tap dance. Some pleasing light numbers will be provided by Air. Alf Phillips’ Alaori Quartette. Mr. Geo. Smithies is a vagabond fiddler in a novel turn. Air. William Watters, L.A.8., is a newcomer to the ranks of entertainers in AVanganui. To-morrow’s patrons will find him a first-class baritone. Mr. Arthur Vernon’s ability as a comedian is too well known in AVanganui to require further praise. The Strollers’ Dance Band is a new combination which will open the second half of the programme in a novel way. Another newcomer as a mirthmaker is Mr. Ross Tulloch. Mr. G. Bosher’s tenor voice will be heard in delightfid numbers, while Miss Stella Vernon’s dancing in r "dude" number is sure to find favour. Air. C. Haar’s baritone should be heard to advantage, and Miss Zclda Watts’ humorous impersonations are invariably favourites. A humorous double turn will be given by Aliss Marilyn Alaffill and Air. Jim Scott. Six versatile children will be presented in a group dance by Alias Swann. Air. F. Watson’s Orchestra will be heard in overture and entr’acte, and Mr. Robert Oliver is tlie official accompanist. '
