WINOOKA IN U.S.A.
PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED. SAN FRANCISCO, July 12. The Winooka-Frisky Matron race is set for July 29 on the Tanforan track over five and a-half furlongs. Winooka will carry 8.8 and Frisky Matron 7.7. Edgar Britt will ride the Australian mount. There is no rider as yet for the Californian mare. Winooka arrived at Tanforan in splendid shape. His next match is fixed for Seattle on August 12 over a distance yet undetermined, but likely to be six furlongs. The opponent is still undesignated, possibly a horse from the Middle West. It is now stated for the owners that all plans to race Winooka at Chicago or New York have been abandoned, and the horse will positively remain in the West at present.
