FATAL COLLISION
YOUNG MAN KILLED 1 Per Pneaa Association. I CHRISTCHURCH, July 13. A fatal collision between a motorcycle and a car occurred in Bealey Avenue at 2.15 this morning. Mr Harold Thomas Deans, aged 28, single, a milk vendor, who was riding the cycle, was killed. He was returning from the dairymen’s ball. Mr Geoffrey Ollivier, ex-New Zealand tennis champion, who was In the side far, was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries, but is progressing. The car was driven by Miss Nola Edmonds, who wa* unhurt. Mr Deans’ motor-cycle was struck side on and overturned twice. Constable Wilson heard the crash. j and extricated Mr Deans, who was i badly hurt and died soon after adinission to hospital. Mr Ollivier. who had head injuries, i was dazed, but not unconscious. It is stated that he had been given a lift I by Mr Deans, when walking into the ! city from a friend’s house.
