The annual meeting of representatives of the New Zealand Trotting Conference was held to-day. The president (Mr. 11. E. Nicoll) was in the chair. The following delegates were proesnt: Messrs. F. B. Clleaphy (Grcyniouth), H. L. Kuspei (Haw’era), A. E. Palmer (Hawke's Bay), W. Grieve (Invercargill), W. 8. Bennett (Kaikoura), W. Moulde; (Manawatu), F. Brougham (Marlborough), 8. G. Holmes (Methven), A D. Bpiers (Nelson), B. J. McKenna (New Brighton), C. M. Ollivier (Metropolitan Trotting Club), H. R. Mack enzie (Northland), M. J. Hannon (Oamuru), Hon. Al. Fagan, Al. L. C. Norris, and members of the association. Air. Stratton (president of the West Australian Trotting Association), was also present. After a vote of thanks had been passed to the president for his address a number of remits were discussed and dealt with. The interpretation of the word‘‘handicapper’’ was altered to read as follows: ‘‘Handicapper - ’ means a person to whom an annual license for the purpose of handicapping is granted by the stipendiary stewards’ committee on 01 after August 1 of any racing year. The following addition was made to rule 11: ‘‘Every club shall be represented at meetings of the conference by one of its own members or officials, but with the permission of the conference it may be represented by some other person.” A remit from the Westport Trotting Club that the minimum weight to be carried by drivers in trotting races should be limited to list., was lost. The question of regulations of systems of fvin-and-plaee totalisutor bet ting was left in the hands of the executive committee to negotiate with the executive committee of the Racing Conference with a view to establishing a uniform system of dividend paying, particularly in respect of the division of the pool in the case of dead-heats.
