Maxton and Sir Stafford Cripps hud expressed Labour’s dissent from the Government’s continuance of the economic war. The Treasury on May 8 issued a notice imposing a specific duty of 12s a head on Irish Free State sheep and lambs. The duty on cattle under six months will be 255; to fifteen months. 50s; two years and upwards, 120 s a head. The duties replace the existing 40 per cent, impost.
