WILLIAMSON’S PANTOMIME I Pantomime will arrive at the Opera House, Wanganui, on Tuesday afternoon next at 3 o’clock and on Tuesday night next at 8, in all its glittering appurtenances, princely palaces and castles, fairy queens and godmothers, the demon’s lair and scenes beneath the sea, dame comedians and funny men and serried rows of beautiful dancing girls. It is “Cinderella,” of fond memory, replete with ugly sisters and the cat and the legend of the glass slipper, which J. C. Williamson, Ltd., claims is the best pantomime staged during the past ten years. The company is particularly strong as regards comedians, as the cast includes Mr. George Wallace, who will appear as Buttons, Mr. Sydney Beck will take the role of the Dame, Mr. Maurice Barling will be Baron Hardup, Mr. Billy Maloney the Ugly Sister, Maurice Diamond the cat, Mur ray and Walton the dancing horse Fred Webber the King Rat. Miss Miriam Lester will appear as Prince Charming. Miss Dorothy Dewar as Dandini, Maida Jones as Goldy Locks, Lily Molloy as Minnie Mouse, Cliffe O’Keefe as the Demon King and Miss Sara Stackpoole as the Fairy Queen. The five astounding Cleveres, a noted international rroupe of whirlwind acrobats, will make their first appearance here and so will the new Big Four. The ballets, the magnificent costumes and the dancing novelties of the army of tiny children are other outstanding features of “Cinderella.” The afternoon performance will be an exact replica of that to be staged in the evening. Lower rates will be charged for the matinee and children will be admitted at half prices. Altogether there are over 80 people in the production, Including a full orchestra, which Is under the direction of Walter Reynolds. The bnx plans will bo opened at tho Bristol Piano Company on Saturday morning next at nine o’clock. A queue will bp formed from 8 a.m.
