WANGANUI ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT AFFAIRS The fortnightly meeting of the Management Committee of the W anganui Football Association was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms on Monday night, Mr. J. J. Scott presiding over a large attendance. A letter was received from M. J. Woodham resigning rrom the committee on account of pressure of business. The committee accepted the resignation wirk regret, at the same time thanking him for his donation to the funds. Representative Games. —There was an ajpLcation from the Taranaki Association asking for a game on June 3 at Wanganui and the promise of a game at New Plymouth at a later date. June 3 was not suitable, owing to counter-attractions and they were .requested to fix another date. Manawatu Game. —The game with Manawatu will be played at Palmerston North on June 3. Triangular Contests.—The triangular contests between Manawatu, Taranaki and Wanganui are again in tho air. While the committee was in favour of these games, it was decided to await word from Taranaki. Mr. E. Smith, secretary of the junior committee, sent a progress report in the course of which be mentioned that from the Technical College alone there were seventy boys playing soccer this year. In the schools’ competition Aramoho were the only school not represented up to date. .He also appealed for coaches and assistance. A circular letter was received from the N.Z.F.A. giving details of a proposed tvui of Australia by primary school boys. Mr. Giover was elected to the Management Committee in lieu of Mr. Payne. The other vacancy is to be filled next meeting. Mr. H. Ward was appointed vice-chairman in place of Mr. Woodham. Inter Association League.—An application from the Alanawatu Association for intci -association games owing to the fact that Palmerston North °had only two senior clubs, was approved, provided suitable transport could be arranged. Eastbrooke will travel to Palmerston North on Saturday for the first game Aftei much discussion an unfinanciai player was allowed to play on paynieut of last year’s subs. The nets again came under discussion, Mr. Chesnut airing the views of tit players on this subject. This is ’o be remedied as soon as possible. Next Saturday’s Games By the introduction of tho two Palmerston North clubs the code will be made more interesting, a little variety being added in Palmerston North and Wanganui. Junior games for Saturday arc:— Third Grade Rangers v. Thistle on Williams Park, llniist v. Eastbrooke on Victoria Park. Fourth Grade Hangers A v. Thistle on Williams Park. Rangers B v. Athletic on Victoria Paj k. The above games arc timed to start at 1.45 p.m. Fifth Grade Bangers v. Aramoho on Victoria Park. Athletic v. Marist on Victoria Park. These are timed to start at 1 o’clock. The postponed fifth grade game will be played to-day (Wednesday), at Vic toria Park.
