The editor of Sporting Life, in a front page pronouncement headed •‘Crime Against Cricket,’’ protests against the sedulous attempts of a section of the Press to cause permanent friction between the cricket authorities of England and Australia. He adds that ho can to some extent sympathise with Larwood, but his remarks were illtimoi> unwise, provocative, and not cricket. SPECIAL M.C.C. MEETING LEG-THEORY BOWLING. LONDON. May 9. Mr. Thomas Moult, iu the Daily Telegraph, says that a special meeting of tho Marylebone Committee to consider the reports of Jardine, Warner, and Palairet is to be held directly Warner returns from America this week.
