The Commissioner of Transport will arrive in Wanganui to-morrow (Thursday), to discuss with farmers the transport regulations affecting the carriage of stock. The three eminent musicians, Alessrs. Jascha Spivakovsky (pianist), Tossy Spivakovsky. (violinist), and Edmund Kurtz (’cellist), who are to make a concert tour of New Zealand, arrived in Wellington yesterday by the Wanganella from Sydney. The only member of the trio who has visited New Zealand before is Mr. J. Spivakovsky, who toured the Dominion in 1922. Mr. T. Spivakovsky was leader of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for many years, but he gave up this position to join his brother and Mr. Kurtz. Until recently the trio spent two years touring Europe, where they were held in high esteem.

Lieutenant-Commander R. F. Nichols, who has been transferred to the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy, has arrived at Wellington to join H.AI.S. iDunedin at Auckland. Lieutenant-Commander Nichols first joined H.AI.S. Vanguard as midshipman. serving in May, 1917. For five months in 1925 he served as assistant navigator in H.AI.S, Royal Oak in the Atlantic Fleet, and for 18 months from January, 192(5, ho was navigator in H.AI.S. Bluebell in China. During 1929 he was assistant navigator to H.AI.S. Hood (Atlantic. Fleet), and assistant navigator to H.AI.S. Queen Elizabeth (Afediterrancan Fleet). From August, 1930, to February, 1933, ho served as navigator and first lieutenant-com-mander of H.AI.S. Danae, on American and West Indies stations. The funeral of Air. C. A. Bullivant at Aramoho yesterday afternoon was attended by a large and representative gathering of Wanganui citizens bent on paying a tribute, to the mem ory of one who, in the three years he was resident in the city, had endeared himself to all who came in contact with him. A service at the residence wan conducted by Rev. G. S. King, who also read the service at the graveside. The pall-bearers were Me. J. Peck, of Wellington (representing the Child Welfare Department).
