FIGHT WITH ROBBERS
TWO SYDNEY DETECTIVES Received Alav 7, 9.5 p.m. SYDNEY, May 7. While investigating safe robberies at two suburban railway stations, Birrong and Regents Park, (his morning, two detect!Vo® surprised a couple of men breaking the safe at Berala station in the same locality. When they attempted an arrest one robber drew a revolver and fired two shots harmlessly. A fierce struggle followed, the detectives firing and wounding one man in the thigh. The other escaped but was arrested later.
The robbers used a jemmy during the struggle with the detectives, one of whom was injured in the face. The robbers were father and son.
