THRILLS AT BROOKLANDS
INTERNATIONAL MOTOR RACE ALFA-ROMEO IN FIRST PLACE Received Alay 7, 5.45 p.m. LONDON, Alay 6. The international 250 miles motor race at Brooklands was won by the Hon. Adrian Lewis, driving an Alfa Romeo and averaging 88.07 miles an hour. E. R. Hall (M.G. Magucttc) was second, his speed being 82.77 m.p.b. Airs. Wisdom (M.G. Alagnette), wa? the only woman competing and she took third place, maintaining a speed of 81.24 m.p.h. Two narrow escapes occurred. Eye ston, in the third lap, was going at 70 miles an hour when a wheel flow off and struck and injured an official. Eyston. struggled for a Hundred yards to prevent the car overturning. Elwes crashed at a corner when he skidded, and the car somersaulted. He escaped unhurt.
