VETERANS OF THE FERRY SERVICE.—The Union Company’s ferry steamers Maori ami Wahine, which for many years maintained the Wellington-Lyttelton ferry service together were recently berthed together at the ferry wharf, a rare occurrence, as when both were in the service one would be at Wellington and the other at Lyttelton. For some time the Maori has be,. berthed in Evans Bay, but was brought into commission while the Rangatira and Wahine were undergoing their annual overhaul.
