Declaration Votes. There are very few declaration votes to be counted in connection with the Wanganui municipal election. The fact that there were roughly 20 of those indicated that the roll used on Wednesday was in good order. Many Sausages. Upward of 2000 pounds of sausages are manufactured every week by one Wanganui firm of butchers, it was stated yesterday. Several varieties of the sausage are made for tho Wanganui market, but it is found that the majority of customers call for beef sausages. Cheerful Workmen. Perched on the timbers of the Aramoho railway bridge, workmen have for some months been actively engaged in tho task of renovation and renewal of weather-worn portions, the tightening of bolts and the painting of some parts. Though exposed to all weathers, the workmen appear to have a cheery outlook on life, and passers-by cannot have failed to contrast their cheerfulness with the attitude of many more fortunately situated. Community Singing. With the arrival of winter conditions and Jong evenings, tho thoughts of many Wanganui citizens have turned to community singing, the question having been frequently asked: When is community singing going to bo resumed. When the CastleclilT School Committee election was being held last Alonday night the gathering of some 120 householders indulged in community singing while the scrutineers were carrying out the task of counting the votes cast for the various candidates. The impromptu concert proved a huge success. Replies to Advertisements.
