STILL NOT LOCATED RANGES CLEAR TEMPORARILI AEROPLANE SEES NO SMOKE' RAIN AGAIN SETS IN [ Per Press Association. ) MASTERTON, April 26. The search for the missing trampen continues. The ranges cleared temporarily this morning enabling aerial observations to bo made by a Wairarapa ’plane, which found conditions exceptionally rough and bumpy. The ’plane proceeded from the Ruamahanga river head waters to Mount Holdsworth, but saw no signs except light smoke inland from Greytown, to which no importance is attached. The party returned this morning from Ruamahanga, having failed to locate the smoke seen the previous day. Another party is setting out for the same locality, but it is believed that the smoke came from a shooters 1 camp, ils a shot was hoard this morning. Rain has recommenced and the ranges are again obscured in clouds. MILDER CONDITIONS SEARCH PARTEES RESUME. ( Per Press Association. ] PALMERSTON N., April 2d. Milder conditions nt the searchers’ base nt To Matawai Hut were reported in a radio message picked up hero to day in connection with the search foi the missing tratnpers. Four searchcri got under way from the hut this morning after being weatherbound for several days and set out for Mitre Flat. Simultaneously a Levin partv of three left to establish a camp in the Waio-hine-iti Valley. A relief party of four left here to-day for Te Matawai, where only the radio operator remains on duty.
