MEETING AT APITI

KIWITEA RIFLE ASSOCIATION , FARLEY WINS BELT. (“Chronicle” Correspondent). Rifleman E. Farley, of Wanganui, was the outstanding marksman at the Kiwitea Rifle Association’s meeting, held on Saturday at Apiti, winning the championship belt easily. Riflemen were present from Wanganui. Bulls, Mangaweka, Cheltenham and Rangiwahia, but tho showery weather interfered with the attendance to some extent. The secretarial duties were ably carried out by Messrs V. Jones and D. Banks, and Captain H. Jodnston proved a capable range officer. Members of the council who were responsible for the smooth running of the meeting were Messrs A. Stackhouse (president), S. A. Meads (patron). W. McKenlie. R. E. Stewart, and V. Jones. The markers did their work well, under very trying conditions. At the conclusion of the shoot the trophies won were presented by Mr A.
