DECLINE IN LONDON PRICES. BUTTER DOWN TO 66/68/Very low prices continue to rule in London for butter and cheese. The market last xveek xvas slow and ir-re-gular. New Zealand salted butter closed on Friday at 66/68/-, a decline of 2/- a cwt. qn the week. This price is equal to approximately 7-Ad a lb., f.o.b.,'New Zealand. The retail price of New Zealand butter in London is unchanged at 9d. a lb. The Empire Marketing Board's estimate of stocks of all butters in store last week was 942,213 boxes, compared with 484,248 boxes a year ago. Nexv Zealand butter in store last week was 7663 tons, compared with 5479 tons a year ago. Australian butter in store was 5050 tons, compared with 1550 tons. The cheese market was easier last, week, New Zealand white being quoted at 37/38/- and coloured at 43/45/-, a decline of 1/- to 2/- a cwt. on the week.
