The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business last week: —There is a better demand for xvether mutton. There is a weaker tendency for ewes. The present demand for lambs is good and is likely to continue. Trade in beef is slow. Trade generally is brighter with a better demand. Compared with last week’s quotations, Down lamb, 36/421b. 1-Sd per lb. lower; crossbred lamb, l-8d per lb. lower; ewes, under 481 b., 1-Sd per lb. higher; 56/721b., l-8d per lb. lower. Others unchanged.
