APPOINTMENT DEFERRED | Per Press Association. I CHRISTCHURCH. April 24. Interviewed regarding the position of the General Manager of Railways, the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes), stated that no appoint ment would be made in the meantime, and that Mr. G H. Mackley would continue as acting general manager.
