It is one of the raciest farecs ever written about the exploits of two soldiers who thought war was just a great big joke and who do their best to turn it into one. They do their best and how they succeed will supply you with plenty of pleasant entertainment. The bright breezy comedy, with the picturesque background of France, mademoiselles and pretty hospital nurses makes “Diggers” a tonic for jaded nerves. The photography is fine and the fact that the film was made in Melbourne, though it deals with France, is concealed with remarkable ingenuity.
