BOXING AT PATEA

LAST NIGHT’S TOURNAMENT WALKER BREAKS WRIST (Special Reporter) The Town Hall at Patea was packed last evening for the tournament held by the Patea Boxing Association. There were three knock-outs during the evening, but disappointment was felt bv many when Walker (Midhirst) appearing against Roguski (Toko) broke a wrist. At the conclusion of tho evening, the Mayor of Patea, Mr F. Ramsbottora, presented tho trophies, which included the Maxwell Gold Medal for the most scientific boxer, that going to M. Candy. The Davies Cup, for the best middleweight boxer, was won by Roguski. Results of the bouts were:— Curran (New Plymouth) sst. 81b., won on points from P. Anson (Patea) sst. 111 b. .
