I’he deputation, which waited < on thc Mayor and the Citizens’ Relief | T’oinniittee, urged that influence be brought to hear on the Unemployment Board to prevent tho imposition of the proposed 10 per cent, reduction in the amount, of relief work available. The committee, afb r hearing tho men’s case, passed the following motion:—“As the unemployment figures for Christchurch show an increase, and believing that the proposed reduction of the allocation will mean increased hardship upon many families, we urge , tho Unemployment Board to reconsider [ its decision and endeavour to find ( channels whereby the recent allocation , to this committee may be maintained.” l
