He said that 4,500,000 people paid for wireless setf each year and there was -ittle doubt that the numbers would soon reach 5,000,000. Britain was leading the world in broadcasting, but the exploitation of wireless was only just beginning. The popularity and progress of wireless in the United Kingdom owed much to the British radio manufacturers, who had reason to be proud of the part they were playing in the development of broadcasting.
