BACK ON THE JOB.—The old American cutter Bear, veteran of Arctic exploration, repainted and refitted, leaving Oakland Harbour recently. The Bear has been taken over by Admiral Byrd, and will be used for his next expedition to the Antarctic, which has been postponed for twelve months.
