In fine weather and before a large attendance the Gisborne Racing Club ceased its existence to-day, after 43 years’ racing, with the second day of the winter meeting. The club will henceforth be merged into the Poverty Bay Turf Club. The course was very fair despite heavy rains for the last two days. The totalisator investments were £4922, compared with £4857 on the secund day last year, an increase of £65. The total for the two days was £8317 10s, compared with £b969 last pear, a decrease of £651 10s.
