SUNDAY NIGHT’S CONCERT

NEW ARTISTS APPEARING. The Garrison Band is presenting the leading juvenile entertained of Wellington, Bruce Maxwell, at the con cert on Sunday night in the Majestic Theatre. This boy has received the highest praise from all sources for his finished and entertaining performances. The leading lady entertainer of Wanganui has stated "that no other artist gives so much pleasure over the radio,” and yet she realises that tber< must be much more pleasure in seeing him perform, judging by the applause ho always receives. Mrs. C. Partridge v ill be making her first appearance at this season’s concerts. Hho will be favourably rembered for many good performances. Mr. G. Bosher, who will always be remembered by his excellent work with tho Diggers’ Con cert Party, will sing "Charmaine” and “Loch Lomond.” As these numbers were always big favourites when on successful tours with tho Diggers, thoir performance should be awaited with much pleasure. and as a singer would be an asset to the best of organisations and enter .tainments. The introduction of choral and atmospheric effects in "The Smithy in the Wood” and "In a Monastery Garden” should meet with approval, for these works are better known in this manner, through performances by combinations of worldwide repute. Messrs. J. Farrell and AV. Tougher will play a well-known gem in cornet duets, "Ida and Dot.” Mr. J, Farrell is well known as a player of tho highest class. Mr. W. Tougher will be making his debut in Wanganui as a cornetist. As a tenor horn player he was the winner of the highest successes in Australia and New Zealand. The Garrison Band will play the selection, "William Toll.’’ a Spanish serenade, “Amina,” the hymn, “Nearer My God to Thee,” and other good works. Patrons are advised to book their seats at the Bristol Music Shop and thereby avoid possible disappointment. This innovation allows them to go to church and afterwards attend the concert in comfort. A silver coin collection will bn made nt the doors. Trams await the conclusion nf the concert.
