FOR THE DAVIS CUP
FRANCE AND U.S.A. LUCK FAVOURS AMERICA PARIS, July 28. The Davis Cup draw for Friday is: Borotra v. Vines and Cochet v. Allison; for Sunday, Borotra v. Allison, Cochet v. Vines. It is considered that the luck of the draw favoured U.S.A. The French would have liked Cochet to meet Vines on Friday, when at his fittest, as Borrotra is playing in both the singles and the doubles. The team is likely to be Cochet and Brugnon. Cochet will therefore face Vines in the third successive day’s play, whereas Vines will rest on Saturday. The American doubles pair is expected to be Allison and Van Ryn. MATCH AT SCARBOROUGH ENGLAND AND AUSTRALIA LONDON, July 28. At tennis, in the England v. Australia match at Scarborough, Perry beat Hopman. 6—3. —2. 10 —8; Lee beat Crawford, 4—6, 6—3. 2—6. 6—2, B—6. '
