ANOTHER £4000 ART UNION

SEVERAL BODIES TO BWNEFIT. TO BE DRAWN IN SEPTEMBER. [ Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, July 28. The Government has approved of a license being issued for a further £4OOO alluvial gold art union to financially aid a number of institutions whoso funds have been seriously depleted by the depression. The societies to benefit by the art union, which will be drawn on September 24, are the following:— “The Smith Family,” or Mayor’s fund for relief of distress in the four centres. Egmont A, and P. Association. Hawera-Wairoa A. and P. Association. Poverty Bay A. and P. Association. Opotiki A. and P. Association. Bay of Plenty Winter Show Association. Nelson A. and P. Association. Maniototo A. and P. Association. Strath-Taieri A. and P. Association. Lake Country A. and P. Association. Central Otago A. and P. Association. New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association (for the promotion of instruction swimming among school children throughout New Zealand). N.Z. Branch of the Royal Life Saving Society (for the assistance of surf clubs).
