CONSERVATIVES LOSE SEAT LONDON, July 27. The Wednesbury by-election, owing to Viscount Ednam’s elevation to the peerage, resulted: — J. Banfield (Lab.) 2.1,977 R. Davis (Con.) 18,198 At the general election the voting was: Viscount Ednam (Con.), 25,000; A. Short (Lab.), 20,842.
