TOTAL MOUNTING UP. Subscriptions towards the City Clock fund are coming in well. The £2OO mark has been reached, and the Citizens’ Committee aro now setting to work on the £3OO total. The result achieved is highly satisfactory, and the business and commercial houses, as well as many of the public, are to be commended for the manner in which they have sponsored the funds Other appeals for funds will shortly bo put into operation, which should assist materially towards the desired object. If citizens generally will supplement this effort with smaller donations, in which everyone is asked to assist, the matter will soon be an assured fact, and Wanganui will have an up-to-date clock service. The clock is everybody’s business, and the general public arc therefore asked to join heartily in this big movement, and so procure a timepiece worthy of the city’s dignity and importance. The opportunity is afforded to give as liberally as possible to the cause, so beneficial to Wanganui’s interest. FURTHER SUBSCRIPTIONS.
