POLITICS AND UNEMPLOYED

Sir, —In reply to the New Zealand Welfare League’s letter from Welling ton of the 22nd inst. with regard to the aims of the Unemployed Workers’ Movement, I would first like to state that to the best of my knowledge the local Unemployed Workers’ Movement is not, and never has been, set up by the Communist Party. Having read the constitution of the Unemployed Workers’ Movement, I find it is not in anv way bound to that particular party. Undoubtedly the Communist Party is conducting a campaign against capitalism, but seeing the Unemployed Workers’ Movement is non-politieal and has only one member of the Communist Party, I fail to see the necessity of warning the local against the Unemployed Workers' Movement. WORKER.
