PENSIONS CUTS
“WIN” FOR R.S.A [ Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 29. During a review of the efforts of the Dominion Executive of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Associa tion in connection with the recent cuts in pensions, at the annual confer ence to-day the Dominion vice-pre-sident, Mr. Perry, said that the Dominion Executive had urged that there bo no cuts whatever in physical dis ability pensions, pensions for war widows with or without children exclusive of the economic pension, pen sion for widowed mothers and pensions of children of deceased soldiers. The. proposals which were made by the executive were accepted by the Government, and he considered that they had scored a great win. The reductions amounted to only 5 per cent, when all classes of pensions were taken into consideration.
