ENGLISH DEVELOPMENTS A big increase in advertising appropriations of oil and petrol distributing undertakings is shown in a comparsoj of the spendings for January last com pared with January, 1931, *rom figures supplied by the Legion Publishing Company of England. In January, 1931, a group of 12 companies are estimated to have expended £5543, an average of £462 each for the month. During January, .1932, however, the amount spent, by a group of 19 companies totalled £18,913. which is equivalent to approximately £99u each on an average basis, an increase of more than 100 per cent.
