KINGSFORD SMITH’S FLIGHT. NEW YORK COURT CASE. NEW YORK, June 28. The trial has begun in the City Court of a suit to recover 1229 dollars from the Fokker Aircraft Corporation by Abercrombie and Fitch, clothiers, on the plea that they equipped Sir C. Kingsford Smith and crew with a quantity of tooth brushes, razors, and combs, following the successful transatlantic flight in June, 1930.

It was revealed that the Fokker Co. backed the flight to the extent of 5000 dollars. The Aircraft Corporation denies that it authorised the purchase of personal equipment.

MATTER EXPLAINED. SYDNEY, June 29. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, interviewed in Sydney, told the Sun that the New York Times arranged with Abercormbie and Fitch to supply new civilian outfits on the completion of the flight. Abercrombie’s agreed on the understanding that we handed over our flying kits to exhibit in their windows, which was done.

FOKKER CO. TO PAY Received June 29, 7.5 p.m. NEW YORK, June 28. The Court verdict instructed the Fokker Co. to pay Abercrombie’s 1545 dollars, which was the value of the goods supplied to Sir C. E. Kingsford Smith and the trew of the Southern Cross, plus interest.
