Kaitoke Women’s Institute.

The next meeting to bo held by the Kaitoke Women’s Institute on Thursday, July 7, is to be an open meeting, to which non-members are specially invited. The meeting is to take the form of a gift afternoon when admission to tho function is to bo a gift of an old garment, or something made from used clothing into a garment, suitable for a child. Members are making an effort to get a good collection of things which will bo given to Airs. Dexter at the close of the meeting, for distribution among the poor and needy. Members are asked to bring a small plate of buttered refreshments for afternoon tea. Nearly 8000 women from villages throughout England gathered in the Royal Albert Hall, London, recently to discuss among other things, film con sorship, disarmament and agriculture (states the Daily Mail). They were members of the 5000 Women’s Institutes of England and Wales, and many of them went to London for the first time in their lives, to attend the annual meeting. The meeting lasted only one day, and many women travelled all night to arrive in London in the morning. A special train from Yorkshire took 200 delegates, who returned the same evening.
