WEATHER FORECAST
General Situation.—The front of an extensive anti-cyclone has moved on to New Zealand, while a depression has been passing to the northwards.
Forecast.—Winds: Moderate to strong southerly, of gale force in exposed positions in and north of Cook Strait. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rather rough to rough generally. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to fresh southerly winds, rough seas. Weather: Cold and changeable with scattered showers, but mainly fair in western districts and gradually improving generally. Some severe frosts in the South Island.
The New Zealand Friends’ School, St. John’s Hill, report for 24 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday: Bright sunshine, 3 hours 20 minutes. Rainfall, .15 inches. Shade temperature, maximum 48 deg. Fahr., minimum 33 deg. Fahr.
