DESPERATE PLIGHT. WARNING TO PRODUCERS. (New York Times Press Broadcast). HOLLYWOOD, Calif., June 13. The billion dollar motion picture industry faces bankruptcy within 90 days unless drastic measures are introduced to save it, Merlin H. Aylesworth, president of RKO and the National Broadcasting Company, warned fellow producers to-night. The first company that ( ‘sacrifices its pride’’ and applies for receivership will find every other major studio following, he declared.
